If you're looking for the kind of hot sandwich that'll really hit the spot on a cold, blistery day, then you've got it with this easy sandwich recipe for Warm Prosciutto-Stuffed Focaccia. We like pairing this recipe with one of our favorite soups or chowders to really make us feel all snuggly. We recommend getting these ingredients fresh from the deli, and we promise, you won't forget just how incredible a simple sandwich can be.

What You'll Need

  • 1 (9-ounce) round loaf focaccia bread (see Note)
  • 3 ounce thinly sliced prosciutto (see Note)
  • 4 ounce thinly sliced Muenster cheese
  • 1 (6-ounce) package fresh baby spinach
  • 1/4 cup bottled roasted red bell peppers, drained
  • 2 tablespoon light balsamic vinaigrette

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Cut bread in half horizontally, using a serrated knife. Top bottom bread half with prosciutto and next 3 ingredients. Drizzle with balsamic vinaigrette; cover with top bread half. Wrap in aluminum foil; place on a baking sheet.

  3. Bake 15 minutes or until warm. Cut focaccia into six wedges. Serve immediately.

Notes

Look for focaccia bread in your supermarket's bakery. If you can't find it, a round Italian loaf or ciabatta bread can be used instead. Also, 6 ounces of ham may be substituted for the prosciutto in this sandwich.
