Ever heard the term, "brownies are love?" Well, we made these decadent treats with love in mind. Our Blushing Frosted Brownies are heart-shaped gestures of affection to show your Valentine just how much they mean to you. Topped with a smooth, raspberry buttercream, this is the perfect dessert after your romantic candlelit dinner.
What You'll Need
- 1 stick butter
- 3 ounce unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 stick butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon seedless raspberry jam
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
What to Do
To Make Brownies:
- Preheat the oven to 350° F. Line a 9-x 13 pan with foil and coat with cooking spray.
- In a saucepan, over medium heat, combine 1 stick butter and chocolate. Heat until chocolate is melted, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and whisk in sugar and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time and whisk until through combined. Stir in flour and salt; mix well.
- Pour batter into baking pan. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
- Lift brownies from pan and place on cutting board; remove foil. Using a 1-1/2 inch heart-shaped cookie cutter, press firmly into brownies. Gently press brownie out of cookie cutter. Repeat until only brownie scraps are left.
To Make Frosting:
- In a medium bowl, beat 1/2 stick of butter and jam until smooth. Slowly add confectioners’ sugar and milk, beating until creamy. Place frosting into pastry bag and decorate the brownies as seen in the photo.
