Just 4 ingredients and a super-simple preparation makes for a cake you'll have to taste to believe. This is no ordinary spice cake!

What You'll Need

  • 1 (4-serving size) package instant butterscotch pudding and pie filling
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (18.25-ounce) package spice cake mix
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9- x 13-inch baking pan.

  2. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the peanuts; mix well. Add the peanuts; mix again. Place in prepared baking pan.

  3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

We love this cake. I make it every year for my birthday. Great with a little cool whip on top.

Something is WRONG with this cake! It tasted WEIRD! The cake had a odd texture, not so much dry although there are no eggs or oil - milk and pudding alone does not make cake mix taste good. Also most cake mixes come only in 15 1/4 ounce size now. We had one small piece each and I am throwing the rest of it away. Tried some cool whip on top plus added the peanuts in the batter. and it did not help. HORRIBLE! Not to be funny - but was I to make the cake mix as stated on the box with eggs and oil & water and THEN add the other 3 ingredients? If so , so much for 4 ingredients!!!!!!!!

Sure sounds terrific! Have a suggestion; if you put icing on cake, try to crunch up 'Butterscotch candy" and sprinkle over frosting. My grandkids would go crazy over that ............. and the adults, the 'big kids'! Thanks again, 'little ole' Ohio cook'

This is so good and quick to fix. You could add chopped pecans, finely shredded carrots and raisins and it would be like a Carrot Cake. There are so many possibilities adding different things to this recipe.

this sounds easy and delicious but would probably add a cream cheese icing or top with ice cream.
