Speedy Marinara Sauce

Got a few minutes? That's all it takes to stir up this hearty tomato sauce...'cause there's no long cookin' here!

Cooking Time: 30 min

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 3/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
  1. In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat; add garlic, and sauté until golden.
     
  2. Slowly add water then tomatoes; stir in remaining ingredients and bring to a rapid boil.
     
  3. Reduce heat to medium and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
     

Makes about 4 cups sauce, enough for 1 pound of pasta.
