This is my favorite recipe for ribs. It's so easy to make them inside, too, instead of on an outdoor grill.

Serves: 8

Cooking Time: 1 hr 40 min

What You'll Need:
  • 12 pounds pork spareribs
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • Seasoned salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 quarts mild barbecue sauce
  • 1 quart applesauce
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
  • 2 tablespoons caraway seeds
What To Do:
  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

  2. Season the ribs with the garlic powder, seasoned salt, and pepper and place them in large shallow baking pans. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.

  3. Meanwhile, mix all the remaining ingredients in a large saucepan, and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Brush ribs all over with sauce.

  4. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes longer. Or, preheat broiler, brush baked ribs with sauce, and broil for 10 to 12 minutes, turning and brushing with sauce once. Serve with any remaining sauce.

  5. Makes 2-1/2 quarts of sauce.

Notes

Liquid smoke can be found in the condiment section of the supermarket.
