Buttery Cream Cheese Frosting

Carrot cake just isn't carrot cake unless it's topped with cream cheese frosting. Here's one you'll find yourself using again and again, 'cause it works on almost any cake.

Makes: 1 1/4 cups

Preparation Time: 5 min

What You'll Need:
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
What To Do:
  1. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until creamy. Gradually add the confectioners' sugar, beating for 1 to 2 minutes, or until smooth.
     
  2. Use immediately, or cover and chill until ready to use. Bring to room temperature before using.
