How to Melt Chocolate (3 Different Methods)

  1. Double Boiler - Don't have a double boiler? Just fill a saucepan with hot water and find a metal or glass bowl that fits securely on top! Bring your water to a simmer, and place chocolate in the bowl. Stir your chocolate as it melts; then, make these Chocolate Sandwich Cookie Truffles!
  2. Microwave - In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1 oz. of chocolate in 60-second intervals on 50% power, removing to stir and turn (if your microwave does not have a turntable), until chocolate is evenly melted. All microwaves are different, so be sure to adjust intervals, as needed! You can use this method to make our Chocolate-Covered Strawberries!
  3. Cream/Milk - You can also melt chocolate with a little cream or milk (2 oz. chocolate: 1 Tbsp cream/milk). This gives it a smoother consistency and makes it easier to melt. Try it out in our chocolate candy recipes for Chocolate Cherry Truffles and Fudge Balls!
