Baked Spaghetti

(9 Votes)
1 Hr 40 Min

Who doesn't love a hearty Italian casserole? Using only six ingredients, this is one dish that's going to leave you wanting more!

What You'll Need:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
What To Do:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Prepare spaghetti according to package directions; drain, rinse, drain again, and set aside in a large bowl.
  3. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium-heat until no pink remains; drain off excess liquid. Add onions, peppers, and salt; cook 6 to 8 minutes, until vegetables are fork-tender. Stir in spaghetti sauce. Add to spaghetti; toss until well mixed.
  4. Pour into a 9- x 13-inch baking dish that has been coated with cooking spray; cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake 50 minutes. Remove foil and bake 5 to 8 minutes, until top is crisp.
  • You can adjust the ingredients and the amounts to make a casserole with your leftover spaghetti. And it's great topped with 3 cups (12 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese before baking to give it a different flavor and texture.

My family loved it!!! As the other lady said, make sure you use a big pot to stir all the ingredients together.

Made this last night, and if I didn't add seasonings it would have been BLAH and tasteless. I added a lot of Italian seasoning, oregano, fresh garlic, Cavender's, mushrooms, seasoned pepper so that really helped. Make sure to use a HUGE pot in order to stir meat, pasta and sauce together well. It definitely need cheese!!

Add Spinach to this it's great!

I was thinking kale, I think a green veggie will be great in this. Sugar snap peas. One question do you think it would freeze well?

As my hubby is a pasta man, I will try making this. It sounds really yummy and a time saver for me. Add a salad, garlic bread...should be complete. Thank you for this, will let you know how it turns out.

Very good and easy for a single father on a budget.

This was delicious and my family loved it! I deleted the green peppers because my family does not like them. I added fresh mushrooms and one teaspoon if garlic. Yummy!

Making it as I type this !!

Sounds like something I used to make until I lost the recipe. Loved it. Will make this one as soon as I get the stuff.
