Grilled Bratwurst Sandwiches
Get ready for these sandwiches because we KNOW you're gonna love 'em! You gotta try these!
What You'll Need:
6 bratwurst links (about 1-1/2 pounds)
2 tablespoons butter
2 large onions, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, cut into thin strips
1 red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
2 (12-ounce) bottles beer (do not use dark)
2 teaspoons salt-free seasoning blend
6 hoagie rolls, split
What To Do:
- Preheat grill. Grill bratwurst, covered, over medium-high heat (350 degrees F. to 400 degrees F.) 10 to 15 minutes or until thoroughly heated, turning once.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add onions and bell pepper strips, and cook until tender.
- Stir in beer and seasoning blend; add sausage, and simmer mixture 20 minutes.
- Place 1 bratwurst link in each roll, and top evenly with vegetable mixture. Serve with your favorite mustard, if desired.
For a no-fuss table cover when eating outdoors, line your table with newspaper. When dinner's over, just roll up the newspaper and your cleanup is done! Then you can get on to more fun activities.
