At Variety Kids Telethon 2010 Mr. Food Will Ask Fans to "Helps Our Kids Smile"
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (March 23, 2010) — Art Ginsburg, aka Mr. Food, America's beloved television food personality, will join the national cast of celebrities and shining stars asking the community to "Help Our Kids Smile" at the 48th Annual Variety Kids Telethon in Buffalo, New York. This 12-hour telethon, which is the longest-running locally produced telethon in the world, will be broadcast live from the Grand Ballroom of the Adam’s Mark Hotel in downtown Buffalo on WKBW-TV on Sunday, March 28 from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Not only will Ginsburg anchor the Corporate Match segments of the telethon, but he will also host a special “Lunch with Mr. Food” on Saturday, March 27, and perform in the “5th Annual Concert with the Stars” that evening. Both annual events consistently draw crowds of fans and significantly contribute to fundraising efforts for the telethon.
Each year, through their telethon, the Variety Club, The Children's Charity of Buffalo and Western New York, reaches out to the people of Western New York, Western Pennsylvania, and Southern Ontario to ask for help in their mission to serve the special needs of underprivileged children in the region and those with serious medical needs.
For 48 years, the telethon has been a force behind several organizations in the area. Dollars raised from the telethon will benefit The Women's and Children's Hospital of Buffalo, The Robert Warner M.D. Center for Children with Special Needs, and other local charities benefiting children. And with the continued assistance of loyal local and national volunteers like Mr. Food, who has been a part of the event for 18 years, the Variety Club continues to receive tremendous community support.
