This pull-apart monkey bread dessert is perfect for the fall, when the whole gang is craving a taste of those caramel apples that seem to be everywhere. Our sticky-sweet Caramel Apple Monkey Bread will more than satisfy!

What You'll Need

  • 3 apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/4-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 stick butter, melted, plus 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 (16.3-ounce) cans refrigerated homestyle biscuits
  • 1 cup light brown sugar

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a bundt pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine apples, granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and the lemon juice.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter; saute apples 5 to 7 minutes, or until apples are soft and liquid has evaporated. Let cool.
  4. Meanwhile, cut each biscuit into 4 pieces and place in a large bowl. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and remaining cinnamon. Pour the melted butter over biscuits, sprinkle with brown sugar mixture, and toss gently until evenly coated. Add apple mixture to biscuits and stir just until combined; place in bundt pan.
  5. Bake 40 to 45 minutes, or until golden and dough is cooked in center. Cool 5 minutes, then invert onto a platter. Serve warm.

This bread is delicious !!! I've made it twice already. Making it again todayl Were at our camper having a get together later today with several other campers. Host is making chili. I'm going to make one to take. Last time I made it here, a few of the campers had a bit absolutely loved it ! I did add more apples sugar cinnamin. The first time it was just missing some of each. Also used a bit more of the melted butter. I guess you can say you go by your taste, but just to go over board. Enjoy !

This would be great for a Thanksgiving treat! This recipe is so good I'm sure it will be eaten up with no left overs with the Grand kids around. Plus the apples are a great treat, I was going to make small apple dumplings, but this one sounds better. I'll make sure I have a few damp wash cloths next to the dish as well. Sticky and sweet! What a way to go!! Thank you so much for sharing this free recipe I will be making over and over again!

I would like to both make rate this. My questions are where are the caramels for this, and when are we adding the sauteed apples to the dough pieces?

Hi there! The brown sugar and butter melt during cooking and form a caramel sauce. The apple mixture is added in line four as well. Enjoy!

I grease baking dish with a little butter. Use just enough brown sugar to cover bottom of vessel and then use canned cinnamon rolls putting cinnamon side down. Bake according to directions on Pillsbury can.

Would this recipe http//www.mrfood.com/Bread/Old-Fashioned-Buttermil == k-Biscuits-527 replace the raw biscuit dough??

Unfortunately, that recipe will not work with this one either. Is there a frozen bread dough can you can try?

We don't have anything in the UK that resembles what I've seen in USA shops as refrigerated raw biscuits. We dont do frozen dough of any description in the UK

I assume the recipe needs something like Merico or Grands? Even ASDA stores which are owned by Walmart sell nothing like them

Would love to make this but have no clue what homestyle biscuits are as I am English and UK-based. Could you please direct me to an appropriate recipe to make the biscuits first, so I can then have a go at the cake

Hello! - Unfortunately, the biscuits that we start with our raw and we do not have a recipe for raw biscuits that will work in this recipe. We're not sure if they sell any kind of refrigerated raw biscuits in the dairy case of your grocery store, but if they do, you may want to try using those. If not, we suggest doing an internet search for something that may work.
