Quick Tortellini Bake

The convenience of refrigerated tortellini pasta is the key to this effortless main dish Quick Tortellini Bake. Simply toss veggies, spaghetti sauce and tortellini together, sprinkle with shredded cheese and bake it up for a hearty, fast meal.

What You'll Need:
  • 2 (9-ounce) packages chicken-filled tortellini, fresh or frozen and thawed
  • 1 large green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 medium-sized onion, cut into thin wedges
  • 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 (26-ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
What To Do:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
     
  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except cheese; mix well.
     
  3. Pour tortellini mixture into a 9- x 13-inch baking dish; cover tightly with foil.
     
  4. Bake 25 minutes. Remove from oven, stir, cover, and bake 25 more minutes.
     
  5. Remove foil, sprinkle with cheese, and bake uncovered for 5 more minutes, or until cheese is melted.

 

Notes:

  • Tortellini stuffed with beef or cheese will also work fine.
     
  • green salad is a great complement to this hearty meal.

Why can't you include nutritional info? Many have asked and yet you refuse to give this information. Many people have health issues and need this.

Thanks for your message! We expect to have nutritional information for our recipes sometime in 2012; we are currently working on the technology to make that happen. In the interim, some of our recipes do have nutritional information analyzed by the American Diabetes Association. If you look at the info on the pkgs of or jars that make up the ingredients, you can sort of figure it out by yourself.

lala1941jan42434989, others have made this suggestion before. Most people like Mr. Food recipes because they are easy and sometimes fast. So many people have such busy lives nowadays with jobs, families, and other activities, that they really like to see the nutritional analysis with a recipe. Having to figure out every nutrient per every ingredient in every recipe per serving would take up a lot of time online or if in the grocery store with or without internet access it would be very time consuming to be reading and calculating per each label of each ingredient. It's now 2013, so I do hope that this site will start including that information soon.

Mr. Food, We love your recipes and have used many of them!! We have a need for seeing the nutrition facts for the recipe since we are trying to eat healthy and she is a diabetic also. Could you please include these on your recipes? Rolla & Carol Wade Wise, VA
