What makes these baked pork chops one of our most-requested pork chop recipes? We think it's the flavorful combination of the seasoned bread crumb coating and the homemade, cheesy cream sauce. These company-fancy Garlic Parmesan Pork Chops are so easy, that they make for a great weeknight dish too!

What You'll Need

  • 4 (1/2-inch-thick) boneless pork chops
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup butter, divided
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon prepared minced garlic
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Coat a rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray. Sprinkle pork chops evenly with salt and pepper.

  2. In a small, shallow bowl, stir together milk and mustard. Dip pork chops in milk mixture; coat in bread crumbs. Place pork chops on prepared baking sheet.

  3. Bake pork chops 25 to 30 minutes, or until medium or desired doneness beyond that.

  4. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a saucepan over medium-high heat; add garlic and saute 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in cream and cheese; reduce heat to low, and simmer 3 to 4 minutes (do not boil). Whisk in remaining butter until melted. Serve over chops and garnish with chopped parsley.

Does the breading on these get soggy on the bottom?

Very good and easy to make! I might cut back on the sauce ingredients a little next time if only baking 4 pork chops.

The pork chops needed a little more punch to kick up the flavour. The sauce was very good but had added another garlic clove. Will keep the sauce recipe for other uses.

Mmmm, I love garlic parmesan recipes--might need to give this one a try!

Wowzers!! Mouth-watering!

easy and quick to prepare turned out to be delicious too. also I have all the ingredients in the house.

sounds great, ready to try

this was a great recipe, very simple too

Can I use regular mustard?

Sure you can. But if by regular mustard you mean the neon-yellow ball park mustard, the flavor will be totally different.

This is a wonderful dish.the pork chops came out so tender, they almost melt in your mouth. I will make them often.

Re: The Hillbilly Pot recipe. I make a dish very similar except I put chopped green pepper, drained corn and campbells tomato soup in it. I call it "madhouse stew." We had 7 kids, so sometimes it was a REAL madhouse. (-:

THANK YOU HOWARD AND THE TEST KITCHEN FOR KEEPING MR.FOOD WITH US. HE WOULD BE SO GRATEFUL AND WE ARE TO.

To joel127 0976699: It does not say anywhere in this recipe to use cream cheese or chicken broth; it was just a suggestion from grannyblu and I think it is a good suggestion. Saves me money and waste to buy heavy cream.

reread the recipe Stir in cream AND cheese :) 3/4 cup heavy cream 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese where did the chicken broth

sounds yummy. still miss mr.food though

This is so good and easy for beginning cooks. It is really tasty and one of my favorites.

Good basic recipe i use regular milk & a tablespoon of mayo sometimes use 1 or 2 Tbls of cream cheese makes it creamy and good also use a chicken bouillion cube and a little hot water for chicken broth... no fancy ingredients but all the flavor I always have these ingredients available I do like to use fresh garlic keep it in my refrigerator to keep it fresh

good idea for cream substitute, I have used a mixture of sour cream/milk (about 50/50)

Where do you see anywhere that it says to use cream cheese or chicken broth anywhere in this recipe?
