The sauce that goes over this slow-cooked pork butt sort of tastes like an Asian barbecue sauce, which is why we call this recipe our Asian Barbecue Pork. It's sweet, tangy, and absolutely scrumptious. You're not going to leave a single bite left behind!

What You'll Need

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 (3-pound) boneless pork butt
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup water

What to Do

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil until hot. Sprinkle pork evenly with salt and pepper, and brown on all sides. Place pork in a 4-quart or larger slow cooker.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine orange marmalade, ketchup, soy sauce, and garlic; mix well. Pour sauce over meat.

  3. Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 9 hours, or until meat pulls apart in chunks. Remove meat to a platter.

  4. In a small bowl, whisk flour and water; add to slow cooker and whisk until thickened. Return meat to slow cooker and keep warm until ready to serve.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes so your gang gets to enjoy all that yummy sauce!

Thanks for your comment. Don't forget to share!

I like this site, but I appreciate the comments from those that have made the recipe to help me decide if I'd like to try it or not.

My husband didn't like so probably won't make again. I thought they were fair. Disappointed because almost all your recipes are great.

I too really enjoy reading from this site! I get many ideas for what to cook & then 'tweak' to fit dietary needs. THANKS MR. FOOD

Delicious, absolutely delish! Thank you for all the many wonderful recipes obtained from your site. My family thanks you, too! Blessings to All

I'M NEW TO THIS CITE AND ENJOY IT VERY MUCH THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING I WANT OR NEED TO COPY. THANK YOU.PM

All these people that complain, you must realize that you submitted your email address in order to receive the recipes. So stop your complaining, get off this site, and go to where you will be happy

I love this site. Makes my mouth water just reading the recipes. I'm an old lady and don't care about the nutritional value of any of them. Too late to worry about it now anyway. The recipes are delicious and if you worry about whether it's good for you or not...go see a nutritionist at a health care clinic and eat what they tell you and stop complaining about this site.

Who forces these people to get recipe's from this website? I really believe some people love to complain and it's sooo sad. I, personally love this website and I've gotten many wonderful recipe's from it and I want to thank them.

Yum...family loved it. I also don't understand why people have to leave remarks about how unhealthy a recipe is. Its pretty obvious that since we are "reading" the recipe, we would also know how to "read" nutritional info, if we so chose to do so. This is a recipe site...not a health food/info site. Please "read" about the differences between the two.

I've seen a lot of complaints about the health issues with these recipes. I only have to say that there are other sites, please go there. For those who are complaining: http://goo.gl/xJOj6

DITO :)

Soy sauce on farm style chops. Come on I have butchered many a pig & fried thousands of chops. I love some of these recipes but lets lable them the right name.

Why are you here. If you don't like recipe go be ignorant some were else and let those of us that at least try the recipe before condemning it!!! Quit wasting our time.

DITO

I believe they can label these recipe's any way they want to and it's no ones business. I wouldn't be too proud claiming to have butchered pigs. their are people who have great respect for all animals and don't like hearing someone being proud of BUTCHERING them. Please go to another website where you'll be happy. We don't like hearing from complainers.

If anyone is concerned about the nutritional value, they should sign up for an internet account and do a little research. I personally wouldn't rely on someone elses research

Absolutely - I've said it before...if the values are crucial to your health - learn to calculate them. That is the ONLY way you can really know how close to your needs you are - and then, you can only be basing it on how close you can get. Remember - it is your health that's at stake!

Tried this recipe and it was YUMMY!!! even my picky eater enjoyed it. Thank you RE tamibaker2..... you would think that since we are given this site as a free priviledge you could curve the attitude and be grateful. If not may I then suggest you go to other sites where the "sensitive" folks hangout.

good reply ctoney. Some people don't know about common sense.

Stop complaining and quit coming to this website!

I AGREE!

ME TOO

Why would you lie to your family and say it took you all day to cook this recipe, as you suggest, and "take the credit"? Also I would like to know why none of the recipes on this website contain nutritional information. Many of your members have asked this same question.

the comments never said if the recipe was good or not I am planning to try this on my family over the weekend

were you married to jim?
