What You'll Need

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound smoked kielbasa, cut into 1/2-inch slices
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 1 (16-ounce) can red kidney or pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup bottled hickory-smoked barbecue sauce

What to Do

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil until hot. Cook kielbasa 5 to 6 minutes, or until browned; drain excess fat. Stir in rice, beans, and sauce.

  2. Cook over medium heat about 5 minutes, or until heated through, stirring occasionally.

This was good but very starchy. I would add onion, green pepper or other vegi to break up the heavy starch content.

This is easy to make and is better than I expected. Good job with the recipe. You guys have put together my recipe book. Been looking for this site for so long, and now that your here, Net Neutrality issues might block me from you. Hope not.

easy and quick to throw together

Definitely looks easy enough!

EWWW....doesn't even look good and the recipe sounds even worse! Sorry.....

Easy to make, and tasty! I used kidney beans, which went well with it.

nice quick meal...my children don't like kidney beans so I used beans with tomoato sauce and they ate that instead. I would cut down on the bbq sauce. My children found it to spicy.
