what size cans of clam chowder, condensed or ready to eat soup ?

Hi there! You want to use about an 18.5 ounce cans of ready to eat soup. Several popular brands are progresso and campbells or Bar harbor. Hope this helps!

Don't have to make it to know that the cheese and the scallions are going to greatly offset the flavor of the clam chowder. I have a suggestion for this recipe: replace the cheese and scallions with 2 cups of dried, cubed, bread crumbs (unseasoned). Add about 1 cup of heavy cream or milk (to offset the absorption by the bread crumbs). You want to maintain the flavor of the clam chowder so you can't add ingredients that take away the original flavor. Clam chowder is my favorite soup/chowder and I know that I would not enjoy it without its distinctive flavor so don't had anything that will offset its flavor. I will make this using my ideas and will get back to Mr. Food with my results. Hang in there Ms/Mr. Levandoski 812 2245609. I will create a casserole that will be right...

I have been a fan of Mr. Food and their recipes for at least 5 years now. Although I do not like all the recipes I tried (I'm sure no one does), I think most are great. I feel the Mr. Food Test Kitchen does a wonderful job of creating recipes on their own. If you see a recipe and you feel you would not like it, just don't make it. If you feel you want to make a recipe your own and change it a bit feel free to do so and have it that way for your family. Just don't try t change Mr. Food and their recipes. You can let us know about tour changes here, but don't try to change a Mr. Food recipe to what you think it should be.

I made this casserole and it was totally bland. I even used an extra can of clams . It just ended up tasting like cheesy noodles. All is not lost -- there's a million new recipes to try !

I would think that the small sea shell pasta would work out great

We enjoyed this but it was a bit dry and needed a little moisture. It may have been the type of pasta that I used. I will definitely make again but maybe add a can of evaporated milk to it before baking.

Try a little of the pasta water after you have cooked the macaroni and if you like add some mushroom and or black olives they have moisture

don't drain the clams or save the clam juice to add for moisture

This was so good! Added a little hot sauce, a few mushrooms and black olives that we had on hand. Will definitely make this dish again and again
