I have been making this pie for years I use 4 cups of apples and a lot less sugar than the recipe calls for.

Well it was great my husband loved it. So I made another this morning for my next door neighboor.

I have been making a variation of this pie for decades. Lately I stopped peeling the apples as when they are grated from the flesh down to the skin, you end up with more apple in the pie and less waste. The peel is all that is discarded. I also squeeze out some of the apple juice if I feel it is going to be too wet. It is a favourite amongst my friends and family.

This was really good. I used 2 large red delicious apples because that is what I had on hand. I didn't bother to peel them. It is a bit sweeter than the typical apple pie.

Made this today, I used Granny Smith apples and followed the recipe exactly as published. It turned out great!!! Will make again.

I PEELED the apples as I would in any apple pie

the recipe doesn't say to peel the apples, so can you grate the peels too, allowing for a more nutrition?

This recipes sounds great and easy to make. Does anyone know if you can substitute Splenda or Equal for the sugar and egg substitute for the real eggs? If so, do you use the same amounts of substitutions as the recipe calls for of the listed ingredients?

I enjoy making apple pies and I can't wait to make this one it seems so simple it sounds so easy and looks great.
