This country-style recipe will turn any backyard barbecue into a hit this summer 'cause it's got that southern charm we all know and love. Bring out that checkered tablecloth and get ready for some real good eatin'.

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup prepared yellow mustard
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 pounds country-style pork ribs

What to Do

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients except ribs. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer the sauce 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sauce will thicken as it cools. Reserve 1/2 cup sauce; set aside for serving.

  2. Preheat grill to medum-high heat. Brush ribs with remaining sauce and place on grill.

  3. Close grill cover and grill ribs 15 to 20 minutes, or until browned and thoroughly cooked, turning frequently and basting with any remaining sauce during first 10 minutes of grilling. Serve immediately with reserved sauce.

I have not tried this yet simply because I can not have soy, is there possibly a substitute? The recipe sounds delicious!

Hi there! There are lots of flavorful ingredients in this recipe, so you could leave it out altogether, or you could substitute with Worcestershire sauce. Enjoy!

This recipe is delicious !! I made it tonight, quick, simple and even using grocery store meat (I prefer the Meat Market), it was tender, juicy and succulent !

can this be done in oven?

can this one be done in oven?

My husband grilled this for us last night. It was WONDERFUL. Next time we will set aside more than 1/2 cup dipping sauce. I used regular yellow mustard vs prepared. I guess I don't know the difference, so it was quite mustardy. We'll make it again!

this sounds very good would you please tell me how long to cook in a slow cooker. I have never used mine and would like to try the ribs.

If you would like to prepare this in a slow cooker, we would recommend 4 hours on a high setting or 8 hours on a low setting. Thank you for your question and enjoy!

I don't see why not. I've made similar pork bbq recipes in mine. I plan to try it soon!
