Gather up the gang, 'cause they're not gonna want to miss out on their serving of these All-American Fish Cakes. These seasoned and pan-fried patties are bursting with flavor! The only thing that could make 'em any better is topping them with your favorite sauce!

What You'll Need

  • 1 pound U.S. farm-raised catfish fillets
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 teaspoons seafood seasoning (Old Bay)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.

  2. Place fish on prepared baking sheet and bake 15 to 18 minutes, or until fish flakes easily with a fork; let cool.

  3. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine bread crumbs, mayonnaise, egg, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, seafood seasoning, parsley, and salt; mix well. Flake fish into breadcrumb mixture and mix gently until well combined. Form mixture into 5 large or 10 small equal-sized "cakes."

  4. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil until hot. Add fish cakes in batches and cook 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until golden and heated through.

This would be such a wonderful appetizer to serve up to guests!

This was great and simple! I will be making this again even though I don't usually eat fish.

Do you also have anything Gluten Free ?

Try using GF Bread bread crumbs, they substitute well and it looks like that would be the biggest substitution to make the recipe GF.

i am goin to make it and see what it is about

How can you rate this when you haven't even tried it!!! And only 3 stars!

I made these last night and they were absolutely FABULOUS !!! Nicely seasoned and perfect texture...... Will definitely make these again, however I believe I will need to double the recipe, as this recipe only makes 5 medium size cakes & in order to feed a family of five I would like to have the ability for a second helping ( plus a leftover one would have been awesome warmed the next day on a bun with a bit of aioli ! Five Star for sure !!!! Thank you !

Do you think I could use a different fish, maybe talapia. My sister likes salmon patties from canned salmon. I would like to get her to eat more fish.

Yes you can use any fish does not have to be catfish, and yes you can use the can salmon, just drain and flake it and mix everything together.
