Maple Turkey Sausage

2 Min

Give your breakfasts and brunches a sophisticated flavor with Maple Turkey Sausage. These lean patties can be eaten as is, or in a sandwich.

What You'll Need

  • 1 pound ground turkey breast (see Note)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons plain dry bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

What to Do

  1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except vegetable oil. Form mixture into 16 equal-sized patties.
  2. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-low heat. Add patties in batches and cook 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until browned and no pink remains. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately.

Makes 16 patties.

If you want the leanest type of ground turkey, look for ground turkey breast, not simply regular ground turkey.
