Mediterranean and Middle Eastern spreads like hummus and baba ghanoush are so popular and we've got the perfect easy way to bake our own homemade Crispy Crunchy Pita Chips to pair them with.
What You'll Need
- 6 (6-inch) pita breads
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
What to Do
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
-
Cut each pita bread into 8 equal wedges and separate each wedge into 2 pieces.
-
In a medium bowl, combine remaining ingredients; mix well.
-
Place pita wedges rough-side up in a single layer on large rimmed baking sheets. Brush each wedge equally with butter mixture.
- Bake 6 to 8 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Allow to cool then serve, or store in an airtight container until ready to serve.
Notes
To add extra color and zing, sprinkle the chips with ground red pepper before baking. And don't worry, these can be made up to a couple days ahead of time so you can always have them on hand.
