For a recipe that'll "beef up" your weeknight rotation, try out this South of the Border Beef recipe. Cayenne, garlic, and black pepper come together to make this easy beef recipe a family favorite! 

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup bottled steak sauce
  • 1 (4 pound) rump roast
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced

What to Do

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degree F.

  2. In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, onion powder, black and cayenne peppers, and the steak sauce.

  3. In an 8-inch square baking dish, brush the sauce mixture generously over the roast. Place the sliced onions on top and bake for 1-3/4 to 2 hours, or until desired doneness. Cut across the grain.

Notes

Have some leftover roast on rye bread for really great sandwiches.
