International Favorites: 6 Menus from Around the World
Take an adventure with us as we explore all your favorite dishes from around the world in our free eCookbook, International Favorites: 6 Menus from Around the World. Journey through a wealth of different cuisines, including Mexican recipes, Italian recipes, Greek recipes, German recipes, Chinese recipes, Thai recipes, and American recipes. No matter your style, these homemade dishes allow you to travel the world without ever leaving home! We've teamed up with our friends at the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association, Inc. to bring you a collection of recipes that show you how to turn convenient frozen foods into gourmet meals.
Each of our six international menus provides you with a variety of recipes, so you can try your hand at different cuisines for appetizers, dinner, or even dessert! Pick and choose individual recipes across the chapters or challenge yourself to make everything in your favorite menu--the choice is yours! Whether you're looking for an easy way to celebrate the flavorful cuisines from your ancestors or you're looking to expand your horizons and try something completely outside of your comfort zone, we've applied our signature "Quick & Easy" shortcuts to international staples, making it easier than ever to sample foods from afar.
Celebrate your All-American roots with a menu that shows how easy it is to cook when you've got market shortcuts at your fingertips. Gather the gang around the TV for the big game with a plate of veggies and a side of our Easy Buffalo Chicken Dip (page 3). It's a cleaner substitute to those messy wings and perfect for sharing among a big group! Put a summer twist on Grandma's traditional meatloaf favorite with our BBQ Cheddar Meatloaf (page 4). With Cheddar cheese oozing out of every slice, you'll wonder why you would ever make meatloaf the traditional way again. The American dinner recipe version is so much better!
Asian recipes always seem so complicated to put together, don't they? We bet you wouldn't expect you could make such a wide variety of dishes using ingredients from the frozen and refrigerated aisles! Pick up some wonton wrappers from the refrigerated aisle, for example, and put together an appetizer, like our Creamy Crab Wontons (page 7) that'll amaze your family and friends. And if you're having a Chinese food night at your house, be sure to have our Chinatown Meatballs (page 8) on hand, served over rice. We like making these Asian recipes more than ordering takeout 'cause we get to play around with each dish, so we get exactly the meal we want!
No passports required for this virtual tour of Germany's finest cuisine! Pour yourself a pint of your favorite beer and whip up a batch of our German Pretzels (page 13). You can even get the kids involved to help you twist and turn 'em into their traditional shapes. While the Germans are known for their heartier dinner fare, you'll be remiss if you don't try a sample of our popular Apple Strudel (page 17). With a mix of apples and cinnamon (and using a handy frozen food shortcut along the way!), you'll be cutting yourself slice after slice without even thinking twice! This German recipe is especially popular in the fall, right when apple season starts to pick up steam.
Imagine waking up and seeing white buildings on a lush green hill overlooking the Mediterranean. While we can't send you on a trip to Greece, we can help you prepare some of the finest Greek recipes in your very own kitchen. Our Chicken and Feta Braid (page 18) sure looks fancy, but we've used a few frozen shortcuts to make it even easier to throw together on a weeknight. And when it's a warm summer night, and you're looking for a Greek recipe that you can eat out on the back porch, you'll love our easy-breezy recipe for Chicken Gyros (page 19). We love serving these in individual baskets, so you can take 'em with you anywhere!
The Italians are known for having some of the tastiest cuisine around, which is why we know you're looking forward to seeing what Italian recipes we've got in store! We've put a convenient twist on the classic Italian club sandwich with our dinnertime version called Italian Club Bake (page 25). Using refrigerated crescent rolls and our favorite sandwich fillings, we've adapted this lunchtime fave for the whole family to enjoy. While Italy's pizzas and pastas are all the rage, Italian dessert recipes are just as excellent, especially when they involve our homemade Cassata Cake (page 27). It's an elegant addition to any Italian menu!
We hear you're getting ready to throw a fiesta, and we've got the Mexican food menu that you need to ensure everyone has a good time! Our Mexican recipe for Taco Ring (page 29) serves a dual purpose as either an appetizer or dinner. The kids will love being able to grab slice after slice until they couldn't possibly eat any more! And when you're looking for a show-stopping finish to your Mexican recipe menu, then our Mexican Ice Cream Balls (page 32) are your starring hit. Easier than the deep-fried version, you won't be able to find a Mexican dessert like this just anywhere!

You've got to try our Homemade Jelly Donut Holes for a fun and sometimes messy treat that's great all-year-round! Wonder how we get the jelly in the middle? The secret is using a drinking straw to make space for that oh-so-sweet jelly that fills the center! Top these with powdered or cinnamon sugar, and let the family get their fingers a little sticky! Just make sure to keep the napkins handy.
