Question If I add coconut chopped walnuts, will it make this a Geman Chocolate Cake frosting? Should the coconut be toasted? How much coconut chopped nuts should I add to accomplish this?

I love the simplicity of this recipe however, each time I've made it, it turns out to be runny. I've let it cool down and I've tried waiting until it is cold. Same results "runny."

Hello! To combat the "runny" results you're getting, we recommend that you use less milk. You should use 2 tablespoons of milk, and be sure to bring this to a boil each time. Hope this was helpful, enjoy!

Thank you for responding. I will try the things that you have suggested and will post the results.

Excellent. Browning the butter made it perfect. I did end up adding just a bit more milk though. (Used evaporated milk).

Brown the butter slightly before adding the brown sugar, it lends added depth to the flavor.

This is the same recipe i have been using for years, except i use dark brown sugar.

If you like Carmel, then this is for you.

I LOVE Carmel ANYthing!
