If you have a cookie jar that needs filling, I recommend these. But I can't guarantee how long they'll stay in there!

What You'll Need

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup cold water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9- x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except chocolate chips and pecans; mix until well blended. Pour into prepared baking dish. Top with chocolate chips and pecans.

  3. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool, then cut into bars.

I think if I substitute cold coffee for the water it would be good but what happens if I substitute milk for the water?
