This dessert is the perfect way to celebrate the summer season! One of our favorite fruits is added to give it that extra special taste. Savor the sweetness of summer with our recipe for Poached Pear Sundaes.

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 large peaches, peeled, halved, and pitted
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • Toffee bits

What to Do

  1. Combine honey and butter in a medium saucepan; bring to a light boil over medium heat. Add peach halves, turning to coat; reduce heat to low, and simmer 15 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.

  2. Transfer peaches to serving dishes; place a scoop of ice cream on top of peaches. Drizzle with syrup, and sprinkle with toffee bits.

Notes

This "naked" cobbler is perfect for celebrating one of our favorite summer fruits. Choose very ripe peaches to make an extra-juicy syrup. To speed up the ripening process, place peaches in a loosely closed paper bag at room temperature for 1 to 3 days. Check the peaches daily because ripening can occur very rapidly. They're ripe when the peaches yield slightly to gentle pressure.
