Very good but will put foil on the tops to keep them from cooking too long

Should you heat the tomatoes and oil before coating asparagus?

We did not and you dont have to, but if you prefer to go ahead, it will be delicious either way. :-)

I have cooked this for years; however, I sprinkle a light coating of brown sugar over the bacon wrapped asparagus. We love it!!

Going to try it nrizzo 1109316 method instead of bacon, which we try to avoid.

Try using proscuitto ham instead of bacon...it's thinner and crisps up about the same time that the asparagus are cooked. Drizzle with a little garlic infused olive oil just before serving. Delicious and easy. You can also cook these a lower oven temp (350-375) using proscuitto which allows you to cook other things at the same time. Make these all the time; family loves them.

What keep the spears from getting limp before bacon gets crispy?

I have made these for years. I don't cook mine at 450 degrees but at 350 and use thin sliced bacon and thicker spears. Mine are also ways snaped up quick, never have enough .

I made this and sprinkled with fresh paramasan cheese and it was great.

I don't understand what I did wrong. By the time my bacon was crispy, my asparagus was limp and WAY overdone.

Great. I convect baked at 425 on a rack in a jelly roll pan. Turned once.

Tried this asparagus receipt for dinner today and it is WONDERFUL! So easy and everyone loved it!
