Dipped Apricots

COOK TIME
5 Min

Add a touch of elegance to holiday cookie and candy trays. Your guests will say, "Ooh, very fancy!!"

What You'll Need

  • 1 package (7 ounces) chocolate caramel candies (about 1 cup)
  • 2 packages (6 ounces each) large dried apricots
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped toasted almonds

What to Do

  1. In a small heavy saucepan, heat the candies and cream over low heat, stirring frequently, until melted.

  2. Carefully dip 2/3 of each apricot in the melted chocolate then in the nuts. Place the apricots in a single layer on a cookie sheet that has been lined with waxed paper.

  3. Chill until the chocolate is firm. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container in layers separated by waxed paper.

    Makes 20 to 24 pieces.

Notes

Dried peaches will work well, too.
