I thought this would be a sweet twist on the traditionally savory dish...and I know you won't miss the sausage!

What You'll Need

  • 1 can (27 ounces) sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
  • 2 cups apple juice
  • 1 large red Delicious apple, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

What to Do

  1. In a soup pot, bring all the ingredients to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the apple is tender, stirring occasionally.

will use dark brown sugar, and 2 or 3 apples, sounds so good
