In honor of any "blueberry-holics" out there, we've added berries to our traditional custard pie. You'll like this so much, you won't want to share!

What You'll Need

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pint fresh blueberries, cleaned
  • 1 (9-inch) frozen ready-to-bake pie shell, thawed

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, sugar, egg, flour, lemon juice, and salt; mix well.

  3. Stir in blueberries and pour into pie shell.

  4. Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until light golden and set in center. Allow to cool slightly then cover and chill at least 4 hours, or until firm.

Sounds great! However, I have about 30 pounds of frozen Blueberries left from last year that I'd like to use up before the new crop this year.....can frozen berries be substituted for fresh? If so is there anything special I would need to do other than draining them very well first?
