These sandwiches are great for the kids to help put together because you get to wrap 'em, bake 'em, and unwrap 'em.
What You'll Need
- 3/4 pound cooked ham, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup medium salsa
- 6 scallions, sliced
- 8 hot dog rolls
What to Do
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
-
In a medium-sized bowl, combine all ingredients except hot dog buns; mix well. Spread mixture evenly over hot dog buns.
- Place each filled bun in center of a 12- x 12-inch sheet of aluminum foil. Fold edges together and twist ends closed. Place foil-wrapped buns on a large cookie sheet and bake 20 minutes. Serve hot right from the oven.
Notes
This is a great way to use leftover ham, but if you don't have any, you can always buy sliced deli ham and coarsely chop it. It works just as well.
