Grilled "Fish Sticks"

Kids of all ages will love these grilled salmon skewers. All it takes is 30 minutes in a brown sugar and soy sauce marinade and a few minutes on the grill to change everybody's image of fish sticks!

Preparation Time: 45 min

Cooking Time: 6 min

Ingredients
  • 10 (8-inch) skewers
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (1-1/2-pound) salmon fillet, cut into 10 strips
Instructions
  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water 15 to 20 minutes.
     
  2. In a 9- x 13-inch baking dish, combine soy sauce, oil, brown sugar, and garlic; mix well. Thread each strip of salmon onto a skewer and place in baking dish, coating with sauce mixture. Cover and marinate in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
     
  3. Preheat the grill to medium heat.
     
  4. Grill fish sticks over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until fish flakes easily with a fork

Makes 10 "fish sticks."
