I like your style grannyblu! I see wonderful ethnic sandwiches on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives and they use sauerkraut or different kinds of slaw on their sandwiches, and I can't find them at any local restaurant, so it seems like I need to make them myself!

Substituting ground turkey, chicken, or lean pork make this a flexible to make meal. Finely chopped celery adds a healthy fibre to rollup.

Brown meat first, drain, you can add a little marinara sauce to the meat mixture for a taster filling. Spoon drained meat on Pizza dough and other ingredience. If you don't want an Italian dish change seasonings to Spanish seasonings.

My husband and I thought this beefy roll lacked something. It was rather bland with no zip. But I did leave out the fresh basil leaves and used dried basil instead. It leaves much room for creativity. I think I will try it again with taco meat, leave out peppers and spinach and go a different route.

It is common sense, that the beef is LEAN!! There is no greasy bottom, when you use 93%.

This is extremely similar to a Bacon-Cheeseburger Roll-Up that I make regularly. I cook my ground beef in large skillet on medium-high until beef is evenly browned. Drain the beef and then spread on the pizza dough. It is baked for the same amount of time, which is really just needed to cook the dough.

Is it ok to substitute fresh for frozen spinach? I tried it once and did not like it. But I do like the fresh.
