Do we sprinkle this with dry stuffing mix or cooked/prepared stuffing mix?

I figured it out )

Sounds like a dish I enjoy from my favorite 'eating out spot'! Will try real soon.

I added a few veggies. About a 1/2 cup of onion, 1/2 cup of peppers, and 1 cup of kale before the soup mix. Worked wonderfully.

A nice thing about a dish such as this is that its character can be changed simply by using different kinds of cheese. In my opinion, the typical super market Swiss is lacking in flavor and interest. You might find that a Lorraine Swiss, the lacy kind, would be a good bit more flavorful. A good sharp, aged Cheddar is another choice, as might be Asiago, or Manchego, or even Pepper Jack, any of which should be available at your deli counter. There are soooo many to choose from!

This has to be one of the best dishes I have ever made and so easy. A must try. Thank you.

I made this for the first time yesterday, and it was awesome! The chicken was fork tender, and so juicy! I will definately be making this again!

What are your thoughts about putting a little sherry in the mixture. I like the taste of sherry with chicken.

IMHO, the addition of a bit of sherry would be fabulous. I, too, believe a splash of sherry can add a 'luxe' layer of flavor to many dishes. In case you're wondering, though, do NOT use "cooking sherry"; that stuff is for washing goats! Use something like Dry Sack.

I have made this recipe for years. I cut the chicken into bite size pieces and line the bottom of the baking dish. This is much easier for the grandchildren to eat the chicken and not have to try to cut it up. It is a favorite of my entire family and we make it frequently.

Super easy and very good!

love your recipes, however this one is going to be a big favorite for my family. i am going to use rice & classic frozen mixed veggies for dressing one of the times i make it.

I have made this dish for years and tried it with swiss cheese. It has much more flavor using american cheese slices.

Can this be made in a slow cooker? I think Paula Deen has a recipe like this too.

I have been making this chicken dish for years. Great company dish because it can be made the day before. One of my husband's favorites
