I'm not sure exactly what vanilla instant breakfast mix is but this smoothie sounds perfect for an afternoon pick me up. Is it one of those protein shake powders that seem to be all the rage these days...and is there something else I can substitute for it? I'm kinda trying to keep what I consume to all natural ingredients if possible.

Hi there! Instant breakfast mix is not a protein shake. It's considered a meal replacement. It's made by Carnation and usually found in the breakfast aisle of grocery stores. You can look at the box to see the ingredients. However, the Test Kitchen could not think of anything to substitute for it.

I love my morning cup of coffee and I often find myself having a smoothie sometimes before the end of the day most days during the week. What a novel idea to be able to have the best of both in one glass. I have just got to try this cold beverage.

My take on Coffey is that is should be hot. I just can not wrap my head around cold coffee. With this recipe I just may like the cold coffee idea. I love smoothies so the texture here would be the determining factor if I can get into cold coffee.

I've never tried coffee as a smoothie before, but this looks fabulous!

You are so right.

Would love it if you could include the Nutrition of your recipes.
