Nine Spice Chorizo Sausage

Chorizo is a spicy Mexican sausage, and my recipe is packed with spice...nine spices, to be exact!

What You'll Need

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

What to Do

  1. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients; mix until thoroughly combined. Cover and chill for 3 to 4 hours.

  2. Divide the mixture into 6 equal patties about 3 inches across and 1/2 inch thick. Cook in a large nonstick skillet over low heat for 6 to 8 minutes, or until no pink remains, turning halfway through the cooking.


Chilling the raw meat mixture for a few hours before cooking allows it to absorb the seasonings more thoroughly, giving your finished sausage patties really rich flavor.
