What You'll Need

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

What to Do

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the walnuts and brown for 1 to 2 minutes. Add the maple syrup and vanilla; mix well.

  2. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 4 to 5 minutes, or until heated through, stirring occasionally. Serve warm.

  3. Store leftover sauce in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator.

             Makes about 11/2 cups.
