You mash them stupid!!

Looks delicious--going to make for Thanksgiving

I question this too. Where do you find mashed sweet potatoes in a can?? I know you can buy canned yams/sweet potatoes but they are not mashed.

Canned sweet potatoes? Really?

Looks delicious. Going to make this.

my husband LOVES sweet potatoes...think I will surprise him with this recipe...

Me again! I forgot to mention that I reduce the flour to half when I reduce the milk to half.

I make something very similar but with no egg and half cup milk and have used regular when out of evaporated. However, my best 'secret' ingredient is adding either brandy or whiskey! I also put the pecans on the top before baking.

That sounds wonderful, thank you for sharing your secrets with us!

How much brandy or whiskey do you add? Do you decrease any of the evaporated milk when you've used the alcohol?

Linda, we would probably add about 1-2 tablespoons of alcohol and leave that much milk out of recipe.

Can't wait to try it for the holidays

sounds really good and simple.will make for my houseful soon
