Easy Cheese Sauce

This sauce has so many uses. you'll be able to use it on anything you want to make richer and heartier and, yes, even fancier.

What You'll Need

  • 4 slices (3/4 ounce each) processed yellow American cheese, cut into quarters
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

What to Do

  1. In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients and cook over medium heat, stirring, until melted.

  2. Makes about 1/2 cup.


Serve over steak, vegetables, potatoes, pasta, or rice.
