I was wondering if I could use Splenda or Splenda sugar blend in place of the sugar.

Can I use frozen strawberries? If so, do I thaw them first?

Question Could I just use a small box of strawberry jello and leave out the 1 cup of sugar? Seems like both would make it too sweet?

Hi there! While the Test Kitchen has not made this recipe with those substitutions, we do believe that it's okay to do so. If you make this recipe with those changes, let us know. We would love to hear your feedback. Enjoy!

Yes, if you are making a 10-inch pie you can use a whole 4-ounce box of Jell-O. It also will not make any difference whether you use regular or sugar-free. Enjoy! :)

I haven't made this but someone in our Church makes a strawberry pie every year and I bet its this one Thanks For Sharing the Pastors Wife Loves This Pie Yummy 3

I have made this recipe before from Mr Foods and has always turned out beautiful . I have you your recipes so much and thank you for sharing with us.

I have made this recipe for many years. I found it in a church cookbook. Yes, it is so easy and wonderful during the strawberry season. I mix the sugar and cornstarch with a whisk before adding the water which results in NO lumps. I use sugar free gelatin and a graham cracker crust. Easy.

How many packages of jelatin do I need?

Hello. You need one box of gelatin for this strawberry pie recipe. Enjoy!

YUMMY - Easy to do and picture perfect and end results delicious

I made this for father's day..my only problem was that the corn starch lumped a bit when I added it. Did I do something wrong? This was very delicious and so easy! Thank you.

We're so glad you loved the pie! Concerning your question, try using a whisk when you add the cornstarch. A whisk will help it mix together better.Sometimes, the problem could also be due to old cornstarch.

Next time try mixing the cornstarch with the sugar, then add the water and stir well before heating.

How many strawberries equal 5 cups?

It varies, depending on the size of the strawberries.

Unless they're huge, 2 lbs. minimum to have enough.

Thanks so much for answering my question!! I love all of your recipes. I did the crock pot baby back ribs and they were absolutely amazing!! Thanks to all of you!!

do you wash the strawberrys before you freeze them

Yes, you can wash and trim them before you freeze them. Pat them dry before freezing so that extra moisture doesn't freeze on the berries. Thank you for your question!

Is this the same as one package of jello?

Hi janaa! No, this is not the same. A (4) 1/2 cup serving size box of Jello brand gelatin is approximately 1/2 cup. For this recipe you only need 1/4 cup. Thank you for your question!

so you would oly need 1/4 cup of jello right.
