Almond Cherry Cobbler

This cobbler goes together in a snap- let it cook while you enjoy dinner, and it'll be ready just in time for dessert. Crown each serving with a scoop of ice cream. M-m-m!

What You'll Need

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 (16-ounce) can pitted tart red cherries, undrained (not pie filling)

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place butter in an 8-inch square baking dish. Place dish in oven for 5 minutes or until butter melts.
     
  2. Combine flour and next 3 ingredients in a medium bowl; add milk and almond extract, stirring until smooth. Pour batter over melted butter. (Do not stir.) Pour cherries over batter.
     
  3. Bake 40 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm.

Do you really use 1/2 cup of butter for the cherry almond cobbler?

recipe calls for 1/4 cup of butter!!!!
