This cobbler goes together in a snap- let it cook while you enjoy dinner, and it'll be ready just in time for dessert. Crown each serving with a scoop of ice cream. M-m-m!

What You'll Need

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 (16-ounce) can pitted tart red cherries, undrained (not pie filling)

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place butter in an 8-inch square baking dish. Place dish in oven for 5 minutes or until butter melts.
  2. Combine flour and next 3 ingredients in a medium bowl; add milk and almond extract, stirring until smooth. Pour batter over melted butter. (Do not stir.) Pour cherries over batter.
  3. Bake 40 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm.
