Our bakery-style homey Chocolate Chip Crumb Cake will probably go so fast, all you'll have left are a few crumbs on the serving plate. This one is so melt-in-your-mouth-good that a double batch is probably a requirement.

What You'll Need:
  • CAKE
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • TOPPING
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips, chopped
  • 1/4 pound (1 stick) butter
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
What To Do:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 12- x 15-inch rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, combine CAKE ingredients. Spread evenly on prepared baking sheet.

  3. In a medium bowl, combine TOPPING ingredients using a fork or pastry cutter, until coarse crumbs form. Evenly sprinkle over batter.

  4. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool before serving.

I tried this recipe but most of the crumble fillings sunk in,is that ok?

Some of the crumbs do sink in when you bake this cake, but without being able to see yours it's hard to say if there was a problem or not. How was the taste?

So nice to have recipes that aren't all botton mixes - made from scratch without all the preservatives - very good and thank you. And the pecans do make it even better.

Was a big hit with my family! Added pecans to the topping also. Will make again soon.

This was a big hit with the family! Added pecans to the topping also and baked in a 9 x 13 pan. Adjust bake time if doing so. Will make again soon.

I made this and followed the recipe exactly as to what it said. The cake was a little doughy. I even left in the oven for a couple more minutes. Did not rise the way it looked in the video. May try it again, but I don't know.

Quick and easy to make. Great taste, even with butterscotch chips.
