What You'll Need

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup low-fat sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Coat an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients; mix with an electric beater until smooth and thoroughly combined. Pour batter into prepared baking dish.

  3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Notes

If you'd like, when the cake is cool, top it with a sprinkle of confectioners' sugar or a mixture of ground cinnamon and granulated sugar.
