- 2 Hr
Looking for the perfect homemade fudge recipe to share with friends and family? Our Fudge Balls are a truffle-like candy that are true PERFECTION. With just three ingredients, you can whip up this chocolate fudge any time you're feeling the need to spread the love of chocolate.
What You'll Need
- 1 1/2 pound milk chocolate, broken into pieces
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 2 cups ground walnuts, toasted
What to Do
- Melt chocolate in a heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth; let cool slightly. Meanwhile, beat whipping cream at medium speed with an electric beater until soft peaks form. Gradually add melted chocolate, and beat 5 minutes, or until stiff. Cover and chill 2-3 hours, or until mixture is firm enough to roll into balls..
- Working quickly, shape half of chocolate mixture into 1-inch balls. Place balls on a wax paper-lined rimmed baking sheet. (Keep remaining half of chocolate mixture chilled.) Repeat procedure with remaining chocolate mixture. Roll balls in walnuts until completely coated. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator.
Notes
Chilling the chocolate helps to make 'em velvety smooth, creamy, and yummy!

I know nothing about toasting walnuts. Do you toast them first before grinding? And could you just use walnuts that you didn't toast? Thanks.

Hello! Yes, you toast the walnuts before grinding and you could also use walnuts that aren't toasted. :) Enjoy!

I want to try this recipe but I have a couple of questions, before I do - can these Fudge balls be made into Rum Balls? If so how much rum would I add /or would I need to increase the other ingredients? My mom said she had rum balls made from a similar recipe back in the 1950-60's, but hasn't been able to find the recipe, again. However, since then every recipe she has seen, adds vanilla wafers or some other cookie and that's not what she wants. Can you help?

The dough was extremely difficult to get out of the bowl. I think they're good though...like eating chocolate air, so creamy

These are scrumptious little slices of heaven. You can even add some flavored extract for another layer of yummy. I make these often myself and they don't last to long.
