Our Noodles, Peas 'n' Cheese recipe will help you put dinner together with no fuss. After you've got your main dish set, you just have to mix your veggies and noodles together for this all-in-one easy side dish.

What You'll Need

  • 1 (12-ounce) package wide egg noodles
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 (10 ¾-ounce) can Cheddar cheese soup
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 (10-ounce) package frozen peas

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 2-quart casserole dish with cooking spray.

  2. Cook noodles according to package directions and drain; place in a large bowl and mix with melted butter.

  3. In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients, except peas, until well blended. Add to noodles and mix to evenly coat noodles. Mix in peas then pour mixture into prepared casserole dish.

  4. Bake 40 minutes, or until top is light golden and crunchy.

I suggest adding at least 1/2 tsp. dry mustard to help out the blandness. Also canned tuna would be good in it.

I thought this was o.k. had some turkey frozen from the holidays, went well together ham might have been better

if this is bland try adding some Knox Chicken Season (to taste). You can get it with NO salt, and NO MSG. I add it to a lot of my chicken dishes, espec when making baked or fried chicken. I buy it by the jar already crushed. I might try it using cream of chicken soup rather than cheddar cheese. Adding a small box of frozen mixed veggies might add more flavor and vitamins too.

This was just okay for me. Separately, the ingredients sounded good, but it just didn't come together into something memorable. Despite the cheddar cheese soup and the sour cream it was quite bland. I suppose one could take steps to give it some oomph but I probably won't try this one again.

Herb Crusted Lamb with Mint Sauce

Instead of cooking ham or prime rib for Easter, why not try something new this year? Our Herb-Crusted Lamb with Mint Sauce may look and sound fancy, but it's really easy to do. It's basically a rack of lamb that's coated with herbs and spices before it's roasted to perfection. Just before serving, it's finished off with a mint-wine reduction. The end result is an Easter-worthy main dish that'll impress everyone at the table.
