  • 1 (18.3-ounce) package fudge brownie mix, batter prepared according to package directions
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  •
  • WHIPPED CREAM
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes

What to Do

  1. Bake brownies according to package directions. Cool completely, then cut into 1/2-inch chunks.

Stir in 1-1/4 cups heavy cream, granulated sugar and corn syrup; increase heat to medium and heat until mixture comes to low boil. Continue to boil gently 8 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat, stir in 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract. Let cool to room temperature (mixture will thicken as it cools).
